FAQ's

Who is your vet?

We have the best vets in the world! Seriously. If you are in Northern Virginia, check out the vets at Rose Hill. They will come at any time and have reasonable rates. They've visited us for emergancy c-sections, broken legs, and sick kids.

How many goats do you have?

This is a constantly fluctuating number.  Usually our herd number is about 10 goats- nine does and one buck. But the more, the merrier! Usually I babysit/board goats that belong to friends so the number goes up (especially during the breeding months).

What do you feed them?

Short answer: hay and water.

Long answer: various grains and seeds. We custom mix sunflower seeds, beet pulp, and nutri-goat pellets for our milking does. In addition they get a high-protein alfalfa hay, minerals, and water.

All of our babies are bottle fed to insure that they are friendly and well trained for their new homes!

How much are they?

The wethers tend to sell for $75, and the does $250-$250. I know that it seems like a lot of money, but please remember that the does are an investment. They are breeding livestock that will more than repay you with future kids. Please me respectful of the labor and love  that goes into the raising of each animal- we 4-H kids put so much effort into every animal and only want the best for them!

As always, feel free to email with any questions or concerns.
